Le cycle des traces
2026, Pigment with Korean paper on canvas, 162 x 130 cm
Founded in 1983, the Association of  Young Korean Artists in France (AJAC) presents its 43rd annual exhibition. Launched in 2024 in partnership with Galerie SEE, this collaboration continues this year under the curatorship of Manuel Gomez, the gallery’s artistic director, who also curated the previous edition. This time, the exhibition brings together 31 AJAC members based in Paris and various regions across France, showcasing their unique artistic worlds through painting, photography, video, printmaking, and installation art. Seen through the eyes of a French curator, the Korean artists' works resonate with reflections on the relationship with nature and time—on the accumulation of history and memory—and on the interplay between repetition and transformation. The equinox marks the moment when day and night are in balance, as well as a time of transition from one season to the next. Building on these concepts of balance, transition, continuity, and transformation, Équinoxe coréen II explores how works stemming from diverse backgrounds and artistic languages converge to forge new relationships within a shared space. Continuing the themes of the previous exhibition, this new edition focuses on the differences and evolving relationships that unfold with the changing seasons, offering an artistic landscape where multiple temporalities and perspectives intersect.
